Chainguard Launches Workspaces and Checks to Secure AI Coding Agents

Chainguard has introduced two new products — Workspaces and Checks — specifically designed to harden the security posture of AI coding agents operating in software supply chain contexts. Workspaces provides isolated execution environments for agentic code tasks, while Checks adds policy enforcement and vulnerability scanning into the agentic pipeline. As AI coding agents gain write access to codebases and CI/CD pipelines, supply chain risk becomes a primary attack surface, and this tooling addresses that gap directly. Developers using GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar agents in production pipelines should evaluate whether their current sandboxing and audit trails meet the bar these tools are designed to enforce. This is purpose-built security infrastructure for a genuinely emerging risk category.
